The EFI is a scientifically-derived index that predicts pregnancy rates in endometriosis patients who want to get pregnant following surgical assessment and treatment of endometriosis.
It is the first and only scoring/staging system that predicts pregnancy rates in infertile patients with endometriosis. It has been validated in over 15 studies, recognized by major professional organizations, and used in global research efforts in endometriosis.
This website explains the EFI and gives surgeons, clinicians and researchers an easy-to-use tool to help in the clinical management of endometriosis patients with infertility. Each patient can be scored at the time of surgery to determine their own individualized EFI and prognosis for pregnancy. This information can be used to inform patients and optimize patient management to observation alone, conventional fertility interventions, or assisted reproductive technologies.
The EFI data-collection system is HIPAA-compliant. Each patient’s identity is known only to the surgeon entering the data through a random number unique to each patient. No patient-identifying data is collected at any time. All data are confidential. Confidential data from each patient can be accessed only by each patient’s own physician. These data can also be downloaded in Excel format, but only by each patient’s own physician. This enables each surgeon to follow their own patients to enhance quality of care.
Please follow the simple instructions so that you can begin to use the EFI to benefit your endometriosis patients who want to get pregnant. Quick Links
